During the past week, President Tinubu’s academic and personal records have been the subject of intense debate. The controversy got even worse when Atiku Abubakar, his former political ally who became his political opponent in the last election filed a lawsuit in the United States, asking the court to release Mr. Tinubu’s records to him.
This has generated a lot of controversy. Questions about the president’s identity have been raised
On the Mic On podcast Kalu Kalu, Lawyer/Member Atiku’s legal team has said “In that deposition, it was very clear that the certificate that Tinubu submitted to INEC was not issued by Chicago State University”, on the other hand, Prof. Farooq Kperogi disagrees. He said the registrar of Chicago University has said under oath many times that Tinubu is a graduate of Chicago State University; adding that “legally speaking, he is a graduate of Chicago State University.”
Wole Afolabi stated “there is nothing out there to support the proposition that what was submitted by the president, even though ceremonial, to INEC was forged. Absolutely not!”
