On this exciting episode of the Mic On Podcast, the host Seun Okinbaloye had a chat with AAC’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Omoyele Sowore. Who tackled pressing issues in Nigerian politics, he confronted the Ondo State controversy surrounding Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s health, advocating for his removal using the doctrine of necessity:
“We are calling for a total removal of Akeredolu from Ondo State by invoking the doctrine of necessity.” Sowore asserted,
“Akeredolu as of today, that I know, cannot talk, he can’t stand up by himself, he cannot do anything. He is incapacitated. He’s got cancer.”
Sowore also weighed in on Rivers crisis, highlighting the intense power struggle between Governor Sim Fubara and former mentor and now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, dubbing Rivers State the “rivers of crime in Nigeria.” Expressing an unconventional stance, Sowore commented, “I hope Sim destroys Wike and I hope Wike destroys Sim. I don’t know whether he (Sim Fubara) can withstand Wike or not. The human side of me wishes they can just destroy themselves.” Critiquing major political parties and the game of chess played out by Wike, he stated, “There is nothing left in PDP and there is nothing right in APC. So, Wike is having a time of his. He knows what he is doing. He’s playing Russian roulette with the PDP.”
He spoke about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, according to him, the president has not met expectations of Nigerians.
However, he cautioned against affiliating with movements lacking authenticity, citing the fate of Peter Obi and the Obidient movement in the 2023 election: “I don’t wish for myself what Peter Obi had. I don’t wish for a movement that is not real.”
